First Step of a Creative Collab

“Monday Night Yoga” started in a cleared out conference room in a church 6 years ago, making the pivot to virtual during COVID.

It’s a prayer based practice, full body stretch.

Though we all love rolling out our mats in the comfort of our home, I like seeing people in person.

“I like it” actually may be an understatement…. I love it.

Because I want to see people (and because dogs / lots of kids make teaching from home unpredictable), I have been hunting for a studio collab that would allow me to run my virtual class from their studio while also allowing their students to join in person.

I could say a lot here, (most of you are familiar with my personal brand of endless ideas…) but the bottom line is that my Monday Night Yoga is a deal. It started as a recommended $5 cash donation in a basket in a church and has evolved to a $20 monthly reoccurring subscription to make payment easier. (Although I do miss getting snail mail from students!)

With average rates of $50+ an hour for studio space? The math just doesn’t work while in startup mode, even if a professional studio would make for better reusable content.

Monday Night Yoga makes quality yoga accessible and is driven by my mission to spread the love of God through the spirituality of self care. It is cornerstone to my entire business model, so it’s been a focus of mine this past year. The tech. The flow. The space.

Back to the space. So, last week, I met Kristy Stephens.

Kristy has recently opened OM Old Orchard. It’s next store to the Annex, in the Old Orchard Business District in Webster Groves. And though I have TONS more to share with you regarding her innovative wellness space (including BIG news for Apple Tree Magic), I will keep it at this: Monday Night Yoga has a studio home!!

We are doing something NEW in the wellness space that is actually so major. Something that changes the dynamic between teacher and studio in a way that is fluid. The energy of innovation and thinking outside of the box irl is just… it’s good. It’s so good.

The other thing that makes in studio Monday Night Yoga at OM different than the majority of in studio classes is that the window for Monday Night Yoga is 2 hours long. You can get there at 6:30p to settle in, chat about your body if something is on your mind, connect with others OR you can get there in time for 7p guided instruction. You can leave right at 8p or wake slowly, journal, visit.

I teach 9, sometimes 10, classes a week and I see so many people rushing to yoga. They practice for an hour and then it’s time to go.

In yoga, we can calm the body and with a calm body, we can slow down mental chatter.

With slowed down mental chatter, we can align with intuitive voice.

With an aligned intuitive voice, we can restore a sense of peace - of love - recognition of joy.

Our creativity and connectivity opens up.

I want people to have the opportunity to switch gears completely before heading to what’s next.

I invite you to support this partnership by coming to a Monday Night Yoga. That’s right - no gimmick in the name.

It’s yoga.

It’s simple.

It’s yours truly caring for you.

Hope to see you.

Erin

PS: If you live too far to come in person, consider trying the virtual option.
